At Wolf Workwear, we understand how important it is to get your branding right. That’s why we offer two trusted and effective application methods for personalising garments: embroidery and transfer printing. Each method has its own strengths, and the right one for you depends on the type of clothing, how it’ll be used, and the look you’re after.
Embroidery is a long-lasting, professional finish where your logo or design is stitched directly into the fabric using coloured threads. It’s a popular choice for uniforms and workwear because it looks smart and holds up well to regular washing and heavy use.
We recommend embroidery for garments like polo shirts, jackets, hoodies, caps, and hi-vis outerwear. It adds texture and depth to your logo and gives a more premium appearance overall.
However, because embroidery involves stitching, it may not be suitable for very lightweight or delicate fabrics. It’s also worth noting that small or intricate details in a logo can sometimes lose clarity when stitched. There is a one-off setup charge for digitising your logo, but once that’s done, it can be reused on future orders.
Our second method is transfer printing. This involves printing your logo onto a special transfer sheet, then applying it to the garment using heat and pressure. It’s a clean, crisp solution that works especially well on lightweight fabrics and is ideal for larger logos, bold designs, and multi-colour prints.
Transfer printing is commonly used on t-shirts, promotional wear, and the backs of hi-vis vests. It’s a more cost-effective method for short runs and offers a quick turnaround time.
That said, it’s generally not as durable as embroidery, particularly on high-wear garments, and designs may fade or crack over time if not cared for properly. Still, with the right garment and design, transfer printing is a great way to make your brand stand out.
If you’re unsure which method is best for your order, our team is always happy to help. Just let us know what you’re ordering, what it’ll be used for, and we’ll guide you through the best option to get the finish you’re after.
